Hello and welcome to the M.A.D. side of fashion. M.A.D. stands for Matrix Artist Design. It was only after I wrote the name down that I saw the acronym M.A.D. and how much fun have we had with that since? M.A.D. Men, M.A.D. Women, The Art of M.A.D. it’s never ending. Our online store has been 12 months in the making and today we are open so check out the store and enjoy our first range from a collection of Paul’s paintings called “Creatures From My Garden”.
This is the first Blog I have ever written and I asked Paul what should I write about? He started going on about, the weaving of colour into a blah blah blah, and I said yeah right Cuz leave it to me and give me a photo to say hello to the world. He gave me one and I was a bit hesitant to use it. It’s the stuff that gives small kids nightmares.
I do remember the first time I learnt it was useful to know the basic principles in how clothes worked, which then made it was easier to buy clothes better suited. I was 19 or so in Darwin, a Capital city of the Northern Territory of Australia, Darwin’s Population then 50, 000 people. I bumped into a friend Susan Day. I told her I was going to buy some jeans and she offered to come along. I picked them out, she liked them and she asked me where the belt was. Belt, what belt, the pants fit, why do I need a belt. She smiled at me with that oh you poor thing look women give men when they have to help a man evolve a little. She explained that because I am tall I need a belt to break up the length, shape and pattern of the clothes. It made sense and I bought my first belt and never wore long pants again without one. Well done Susie Wallis.
In the beginning there was a belt to define shape. Today it’s M.A.D. defining colour
Cheers
